When Nature goes crazy.
Oct. 15th, 2011 05:29 pmGuys, do you remember how I use to brag about the fantastic climate we have here at the islands? How we have warm temperatures all year round, and how hurricanes, twisters or even storms don't really plague us? How I use to show off and say that Canary Islands are the European Hawaii?
Then Mother Nature comes and bitch slaps us like whoa!
I'm not bragging again. Ever.

Date: 2011-10-15 10:00 pm (UTC)I've been wanting to phone you, are you going home for Christmas, love? If you aren't, then you're formally invited to spend Christmas here with us, okay? I don't want you to be alone. I can't guarantee you a White Christmas, though. Mostly a really warm one.

Date: 2011-10-15 11:00 pm (UTC)Oh, I wish I were staying in Spain, now! No, I'm heading back for Christmas. The plane tickets have already been bought, etc. I'm not actually sure I'm looking forward to it since it'll be an entire month sin español, but hey. Sea lo que sea, right? I have many weekends free between November and July, though, so we can make those count. If I don't talk to you soon (and whenever you want to phone me, I'd love to talk to you. I'm not making any extraneous phone calls right now as I'm still looking for a piso and all those phone calls are costing a massive amount of money, yay, but please feel free to call any time), good luck on your business trip!
This has been a rambling test of your broadcast system.

besitos!
See, my Spanish is getting faster, but I'll be damned if I can tell if it's getting better.

Date: 2011-10-19 02:26 pm (UTC)Tu español está mejorando muchísimo. Debes estar muy orgullosa. The use of profanities is specially remarkable, too. Good work. Nothing speaks more of fluency in a foreign language than the proper use of swear words.
Why does he hate you poor, poor Carlitos? You need to find a better place to live, so you can rest better and have more time to be spanish. =)

Date: 2011-10-19 05:35 pm (UTC)I feel so much better now. I asked my grammar teacher yesterday if she saw any progress in my speech and writing and she told me, "Bueno, este clase no es milagro". I was kinda sad.
I think it's the whistling thing. It's not like he does it all the time, or even frequently, but she's scared of birds and she really hates him making noise. So I get text messages once a week telling me he's whistling and what am I going to do about it? I *do* need to find a place to live. And I found one today that was offered to me! I'm pretty sure I'm going to take it, but I'll take this week to look around and make sure. It was nice, but very bare since the last roommate owned all the furniture.
