When the weekend is over.

The weekend is almost over. It's been pretty weird. Productive, but weird.

Let me tell you that last week I finally talked with [personal profile] foursweatervests. She's in Madrid, and she's so lovely, you wouldn't believe. She has the cutest accent ever, and she speaks Spanish really, really well. I can't wait to meet her for real, let's see if Real Life behaves itself and we can meet properly. It's going to be AWESOME!

So I spoke with her Friday morning, YAY!, and then I went to lunch with the husband, V, to our favorite japanese restaurant. We try to go out at least once a week or so, to spend some time alone and out of home to talk and flirt like we're dating, we're weird like that. We went to the supermarket and bought our groceries instead of having a siesta, so I can safely say that at least this time, my flirting was really unsuccessful. =/. I must be getting rusty.

Then he went to a meeting for work. I know, I know, who plans a meeting on a Friday afternoon? The husband and his partners, that's who. While he was out, I decided to try my hand at upholstering an old chair I found in my building's basement. I painted the wood, and then I upholstered the chair with a lively fabric, green and white. It was fun, I think I've found a new hobby.

We wanted to go to the cinema to watch Super 8, but the husband phoned and told me he had to have diner with the clients, so we rescheduled and after dinner, he went to sleep at his mother's house. I totally recommend having a divorced mother in law, and a single child for a husband, that way you can have one or two nights a week just for yourself. You can eat all the cookies you want, watch all the movies full of explosions you want, and you don't have to feel guilty for blasting MCR's music out at top volume for a few hours. Not that I did that. I most certainly did not do any of that.

I swear.

Anyway, On Saturday we had to go visit the country home of our of our friends. She's renovating it, and so far,the work is amazing. Pity the house is 40-50 minutes away from my city. (That's a lot of car for us islanders. More than fifteen minutes in a car and we get all tense: "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Seriously, ARE WE THERE YET?") Besides, I get motion-sick if I'm not the one who's driving, so by the time we arrived I was as green as the scenery. We had an amazing time, we gathered blackberries and made preserve, we gathered apples and made a strudel, we collected eggs and made a cake, we gathered verbena and made...nothing really. I just gathered it because it smells good and looks pretty. My nephew had the best time ever, and he was covered in mud and a lot of suspicious stuff I didn't want to get too close with. I don't know how kids do it, really. They were running the whole day, scaring the chickens, dogs and lizards and then eating enough unwashed fruits to give their mother the hives. It was hilarious to watch them flinch.

And today, oh guys, today we had FORMULA 1! I'm such a huge fan, like really dedicated, know all the teams, all the drivers, their positions, I even watch the qualifying given the chance. That's why fortnightly I spend the Sunday morning glued to the TV. I don't talk, I don't eat, I don't blink. The husband prepares lunch, serves it, washes the dishes and cleans the kitchen, and he considers himself lucky if I remember to say thanks.

Thank God it's only two Sundays a month. Otherwise, I'll be a very divorced Formula 1 fan.

But see, when F1 is over, I always remember him and we can cuddle on the sofa for hours, and that's the best part of the weekend.

OH! I almost forgot: I wrote two more scenes of my Mer!fic. Adam has Kris totally bemused! Brad is enraged! Cassidy wants to hit himself! So as I said, weird weekend but productive, too.

Okay, you are going to make me cry over here. There is such a thing as too nice, A! And we're definitely going to meet; like you said, we have a whole year! I know we'll get it done. :-D

Oooh, I was wondering how the reupholstering went. Do you think you'd be willing to post instructions on how, exactly, you accomplished that? I'd like to try my hand at upholstering.

Hey, I get carsick, too! Like, very. :-\ But it seems like you had a great weekend despite that. F-1!
